About me

Ángel Rafael Sosa Muñiz

I hold a B.S. in Physics and an M.A. in Philosophy, specializing in Bell’s theorem, the relationship between quantum mechanics and relativity, and causal theories. I graduated Summa cum laude in December 2025. During my graduate studies, I received the OAS Prize for academic excellence, presented at several conferences affiliated with the American Philosophical Association (APA), and served as president of the Thomistic Institute chapter at the University of Texas at El Paso, organizing lectures and connecting with leading scholars such as Dr. Robert Koons and Dr. Alexander Pruss. Dr. Koons subsequently joined my master’s thesis committee.
I have taught at multiple institutions in Mexico focused on philosophy and theology. I currently serve as a full-time faculty member at Instituto México in Ciudad Juárez, teaching Physics and Logic, and as a part-time professor at the Diocesan Institute of Theology, teaching courses on Sacred Scripture, the Pentateuch, and Mariology.
Outside academia, I am a 26-year-old Catholic devoted to my community, serving as a catechist in the Diocese of Ciudad Juárez and singing bass in the Coro Gregoriano Cristo Redentor, the diocese’s only choir dedicated to Gregorian chant. I am also passionate about reading, writing, music, computers, and fitness.
I am seeking admission to a PhD program in Philosophy to advance my work in philosophy of physics, particularly Neo-Aristotelian interpretations of modern physics and the relationship between general relativity and quantum mechanics.
